Description

Focused on students acquiring the knowledge, skills and mindsets necessary to attend a post-secondary school, the University Prep High School represents an important ground-breaking partnership between the Pittsburgh Public Schools and the University Of Pittsburgh.

Housed in the former Milliones Middle School, facilities include classrooms, a libarary, computer room, lab, gymn and cafeteria. It was orginally named for Margaret Milliones, a former Pittsburgh school board member and professor of black studies at the University Of Pittsburgh died of a massive stroke in 1978 at age 38.

The University Of Pittsburgh’s Center For Urban Education has staff and offices at University Prep and work closely with school faculty to help each student achieve at high levels.

Hours of operation

Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
