Opened in 1964, the William S. Moorhead Federal Building is a 23-story modernist skyscraper that houses the primary federal government offices for southwestern Pennsylvania.
It is named in honor of William S. Moorhead (1923-1987), a native of Pittsburgh who served as a member of the United States House Of Representatives from 1959-1981. A graduate of Harvard Law School, he sat on many boards and committees in the region.
Like most federal office facilities, the Moorhead is operated by the General Services Administration (GSA)
Most offices are open weekdays, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The nearby David L.Lawrence Convention Center has underground and above ground parking facilities.
