This ashram is part of the Leela Mata Foundation For Enlightenment, a non-profit organization serving the development of humanity. Leela Mata is an internationally known teacher who studied directly under Swami Vishnu Devananda, one of the most prominent Yoga masters of the 20th century.
A modern ashram an intentional community formed primarily for spiritual upliftment of its members, often headed by a Hindu religious leader. Most Hindus believe that the spirit or soul --- the true "self" of every person, called the atman --- is eternal.
Peaceful Valley Ashram sits on 12 acres with a main house, two large "hub" rooms in the center with cathedral ceilings and a fireplace; two large wings with lots of bedrooms (at least 30 bedrooms overall) and large rooms for programming and 7 outbuildings including a huge, huge, bank barn, ideal for big events.
