Opened in 1889 as Slippery Rock State Normal School, Slippery Rock University Of Pennsylvania (SRU) is a public, master's-level university that offers some doctoral programs in cooperation with Indiana University Of Pennsylvania.
With 600 acres and nearly 50 buildings, SRU has one of the largest campuses in western Pennsylvania. Facilities include Miller Auditorium, the Pearl K. Stoner Instructional Complex, Morror Field House, the spotts World Culture Building, Bailey Library, and the Aebersold Student Recreation Center, among others.
