Washington's Landing is an example of successful rehabilitation of brown space into urban green space.
It is actually an island (formerly called Herr's Island) adjacent to the city's North Side near the 31st Street Bridge. Once an industrial site, the island now has homes, trails and offices.
With its tennis courts, marina, outdoor trails and other amenities, non-profit organizations sometimes use Washington's Landing for events and activities.
The island itself is open 24 hours a day. Each facility varies.
There are parking lots and on-street parking on the island.
