Founded on January 21, 1988 the Western Allegheny Community Library rxists thanks to the efforts of a group of local citizens who wanted a facility to serve a collection of rural communities west of Pittsburgh.
Located in a section of a former school, the collection has grown to over 35,000 materials which includes books, audio cassettes, videos, magazines and newspapers.
In addition to being a library, Western Allegheny is also used as a community center.
