A small town of some 4,000 people, Waynesburg is the county seat of Greene County and home to Waynesburg College, a four-year liberal arts school.
Waynesburg is the classic model of the time-honored college town. The central business district provides a balanced selection of shopping opportunities and governmental center.
The town is named after General Anthony Wayne (1745-1796), who was a United States Army general and statesman during the American Revolution.
