The Slovak Catholic Sokol is an athletic and gymnastic fraternal benefit society founded in New Jersey on July 4, 1905. Today it is composed of 19 groups and 185 assemblies throughout the United States and Canada.
Thousands of dollars are donated annually to charitable organizations, churches, and members for emergencies, such as floods or other disasters.
The Pittsburgh center is located in a brick and aluminum bulding with a spacious, two-story hall used for bingo and other kinds of events.
