Soergel Orchards dates back to the mid-1850s when a German immigrant by the name of John Conrad Soergel planted apple trees on the orchard's initial plot of land. The apples were sold wholesale for the first half of the 1900s, and in the mid 1960s the family opened a roadside stand located at the corner of Brandt School Road and Wexford Bayne Road. The current market was built in the 1970s.
Today, in addition to produce, Soergel Orchards sells baked goods, wine, gourmet foods and garden supplies. The farm also offers classes, workshops, pony rides and a multi-purpose events building.
