The store imports fine folk Mexican arts and crafts, and is known for their exceptional selection of carved and painted wooden Alebrijes (animals) from Oaxaca and also the brilliantly colorful beaded masks, jewelry and yarn paintings of the Huichol Indians.
Mexico Lindo seeks to educate others about both ancient and modern Mexican culture, customs and cuisines contributes to the local Latino community by providing outreach information about community services and displaying materials relating to issues of interest to them, and also display info about all of the local arts related activities throughout the Pittsburgh area.
Co-owner Jean-Pierre Nutini has a wealth of intimate knowledge of the mercados of Mexico; having spent much of his youth there with his family. The store takes its name from the famous song, "Mexico Lindo y Querido".
