Celebrate the beauty, grace and gentleness of the greyhound dog in an elegant evening centered around a special exhibition by Pittsburgh photographer Harry Giglio.
For many years, greyhounds were best known for their speed at the racetrack. More recently, they have become increasingly popular as loving pets after they retire from the track. Having spent the first several years of their lives running for others' profit, it's time for these gentle, striking dogs to have their time in the spotlight. Harry Giglio's fine art photographs are of greyhounds who were rescued and adopted into homes.
The evening also includes wine, light refreshments and surprises, with singer-songwriter Nancy Deckant providing musical entertainment. Guests will also have the opportunity to meet some retired racing greyhounds, to experience first-hand how calm and beautiful these dogs are.
A portion of the proceeds benefit Steel City Greyhounds, which promotes adoption of retired racing greyhounds in the metropolitan Pittsburgh area. For more information, call Colleen Rush at (412) 288-4320.
