Author Catherine Johnson
Andy Warhol Museum  [ venue info ]
4/13/2013 2pm

The author discusses her interesting book, "Thank You Andy Warhol," which is comprised of eighty interviews she had with an impressive range of artists, designers and others who were influenced by Andy Warhol.

Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Andy Warhol (1928-1987) was a painter, printmaker and filmmaker who was a leading figure in the visual art movement known as pop art. After a successful career as a commercial illustrator, Warhol became famous worldwide for his work as a painter, avant-garde filmmaker, record producer, author and public figure known for his membership in wildly diverse social circles that included bohemian street people, distinguished intellectuals, Hollywood celebrities and wealthy aristocrats.

The program includes a brief talk about the book and a rare video screening of select interviews, followed by a question & answer session with the author and a book signing. For more information, call (412) 237-8300.
