African Americans: From Slavery To Freedom
Senator John Heinz History Center  [ venue info ]
2/23/2013

Come to the center's library where genealogists will present their research on the manumission papers included in the "From Slavery To Freedom" exhibit.

"From Slavery To Freedom" is a permanent exhibit at the center that highlights the history of the anti-slavery movement in 19th century America. Manumission is the act of a slave owner freeing his slaves.

The experts will share genealogy methods used to research those ancestors who were enslaved and emancipated. For more information, or to register, call (412) 454-6364.
