Celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Pittsburgh Jewish Music Festival with this performance offering a new concert interpretation of "The Dybbuk".
Founded in 2004, the Pittsburgh Jewish Music Festival is an annual summer concert series devoted to improving cultural life for Pittsburgh's Jewish and artistic communities at large. "The Dybbuk" is an opera in three acts created by Jewish-American composer David Tamkin (1906-1975) that intertwines folk elements with contemporary textures to create a haunting tale of a woman and the most difficult choice in her life.
Presented as part of the Music For The Spirit Festival, a project of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra to promote and spreads the universal message that music bridges all faiths. For more information, call (412) 392-4900.
