La Mia Strada
Senator John Heinz History Center  [ venue info ]
1/27/2013 2:30pm

This 2012 feature-length documentary film by Western Pennsylvania director Michael DiLauro, offers a personal perspective on ethnicity and tradition as it links ancient Italian traditions and contemporary Italian culture with its Italian American counterpart.

"La Mia Strada" is one filmmaker's touchstone, connecting with his family and so many others he met along the way. Over a period of years, he has conducted dozens of interviews, explored historical sites, sifted through archaeological artifacts, dug through family photographs, and immersed himself in the music, poetry and oral history of Italy.

A special rate of $6.50 permits admission to the film and the History Center's exhibitions. The screening is presented by the American Italian Cultural Institute Of Pittsburgh and hosted by the History Center's Italian American Program. For more information, call (412) 454-6352.
