Local author and historian Karen Helbling celebrates the release of her new book, "History Of America: New Brighton."

Part of the "Images of America" series, the book places the history of the Pennsylvania town New Brighton in the context of the nation's history. New Brighton's unique and rich history dates back to 1788. Its location on the Beaver River and natural resources made in an industrial center in the early 20th century.

Karen Helbling was born and raised on Oak Hill in New Brighton and is a past president of the New Brighton Historical Society. She will also be displaying her New Brighton memorabilia. For more information, call (724) 846-1130.
