Led by Artistic Director Dr. Warren Davidson, the Academy Chamber Ensemble presents an all-Mozart concert in the marvelous acoustics of the Andrew Carnegie Music Hall.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) was a prolific and influential Austrian composer of the Classical Era whose influence on subsequent Western art music is profound. The Academy Chamber Ensemble will perform a duo for violin and viola, two charming works for flute and strings, and the sublime "String Quintet".
The informal evening will include interesting tales of Mozart's life and the particular origins of these compositions. The Academy Chamber Ensemble consists of leading Pittsburgh musicians, all members of the Academy Chamber Orchestra, which performs regularly with the Bach Choir, the Pittsburgh Concert Chorale and with area church choirs. Tickets are $15 and may be purchased at the door. For more information, call (412) 276-3456.
