Pittsburgh Speakers Series: Nando Parrado
Heinz Hall  [ venue info ]
4/22/2013 8pm

Uruguayan entrepreneur and motivational speaker Nando Parrado reflects on his miraculous survival of a plane crash.

Parrado is one of the sixteen Uruguayan survivors of Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571, which crashed in the Andes mountains on October 13, 1972. After spending two months trapped in the mountains with the other crash survivors, he, along with Roberto Canessa, climbed through the Andes mountains over a 10 day period to find help.

Presented as part of the Pittsburgh Speakers Series, a program that brings prominent and accomplished people to Pittsburgh to lecture with the aid of a moderator in conjunction with the Music For The Spirit Festival, a project of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra to promote and spreads the universal message that music bridges all faiths.
