First staged in 1817, this delightful opera by Italian composer Gioachino Rossini (1792-1868) re-imagines the classic fairy tale "Cinderlla" --- the ultimate saga of a young woman living in unfortunate circumstances that are suddenly changed to remarkable fortune.

Renamed Angelina, the heroine suffers from three evil stepsisters before secretly attending a royal ball --- and gaining the prince's attention.
