Ukrainian-born pianist Valentina Lisitsa --- whose videos on the web site YouTube have become a world-wide sensation --- joins the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra for some incredible classical music.
The program's highlight is Lisitsa performing Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg's (1843-1907) much-loved "Piano Concerto". The second half of the program features a musical trip to the Mediterranean including one of French composer Maurice Ravel's (1875-1937) first works for orchestra, "Rapsodie Espagnole", which was inspired by the Spanish folk tunes sung by his mother when Ravel was a child.
