Multiple Grammy Award-winning violinist Gil Shaham joins the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra in performing Austrian composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's (1756-1791) "Fifth Violin Concerto," which begins with a sweet melody and ends with hints of military-Turkish music, giving the piece its nickname "The Turkish".
The program includes a work by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer George Walker that was co-commissioned by the orchestra.
