Jr Vet Day Camp

Kids 6 to 15 years old are invited to a fun, interactive animal learning experience.

The day includes animal hospital tours and learing with live dogs, cats, goats and rabbits. Kids will perform physical exams, while working with veterinary staff. Interactive stations which teach kids about animal acupuncture, physical and swim therapy, surgery, blood testing, x-rays, ultrasound, the insides of animals and more will be featured.

Shop Featured Artist: Amber Coppings

Stop by the center's gift shop to see a special display of local artist Amber Coppings' textile designs.

Hand- and machine- sewn applique details are art-inspired, geometric and are handcut from pieces of organic cottons, bamboo rayons and cotton jerseys that are hand-dyed with shibori techniques or digitally designed by Amber Coppings in her Lawrenceville studio. This allows for the most artistic expression and enhances the handmade nature of each individual piece. Other items being featured are hand-dyed infinity scarves, lightweight "Suzi" Hoodie Cape Vests and sumptuous handbraided organic cotton belts with vintage buckles.

Comprising of five leading members of Pittsburgh's jazz community, this local band performs everything from rock to hip-hop --- all firmly rooted in the traditions of jazz.

Also performing is the all-female jazz trio Velvet Heat.

Western Pennsylvania Mushoom Club Meeting

Guests are welcome to join club members to hear Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Outdoors Editor John Hayes present a program about the invasive species didymo (Didymosphenia geminate), often called "rock snot" because of its phlegmy appearance.

Didymo is a coldwater algae native to Southern Canada and Northern Europe. Invasive on the waterways of more southerly climates, it grows into thick blooms that are not dangerous to humans but interfere in recreational use of waterways. Didymo entered Southwest Pennsylvania at Ohiopyle in 2012.

The Western Pennsylvania Mushroom Club has over 400 members interested in organizing mushroom walk and forays, teaching scientific methods of wild mushroom identification and exploring various art forms. For more information, visit www.wpamushroomclub.org

St. Valentine Bingo

Gather in the church's historic Frawley Hall for a fun and exciting night of bingo.

Bingo is a game of chance played with randomly drawn numbers which players match against numbers that have been pre-printed on 5-inch by 5-inch cards. The winner calls out the word "Bingo!" to alert the other players and caller of a possible win.

Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration

Renowned vocalist/guitarist Warren Haynes collaborates with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra to celebrate American music icon Jerry Garcia.

Jerome "Jerry" Garcia (1942–1995) was best known for his lead guitar work, singing and songwriting with the rock band Grateful Dead. This ground-breaking orchestral adventure features Garcia's storied original compositions as well as classic interpretations of timeless standards that were hallmarks of Garcia's shows.

Art Interprets Alzheimer's

This exhibit showcases the works of respected sculptor George Roby and internationally known portraiture Herbert Ascherman, Jr. who use ceramic sculptures and black & white photographs that capture the emotions of Alzheimer's Disease.

Alzheimer's Disease is an incurable, degenerative and terminal neurological disease that was first described by German psychiatrist Alois Alzheimer in 1906.

This play is a poignant and sharply drawn portrait of a family simultaneously bound together and torn apart as it struggles to come to grips with a painful past.

A once-promising novelist, Brooke Wyeth, announces to her family the imminent publication of a memoir she has written about her brother Henry, an anti-war activist during the Vietnam War, who committed suicide after being implicated in a bombing at a military recruiting center. Lyman and Polly Wyeth whose memories of their troubled son differ significantly from Brooke´s, plead with their daughter not to bring Henry´s tragic story to light after 30 years.
