Members of the Pittsburgh Civic Orchestra performs a concert reflecting the theme "Take Five".
The highlight of the concert is the very talented oboist Renate Sakins, who will perform Italian composer Evaristo Felice Dall'Abaco's "Concerto In C Major, Opus No. 5". This seemingly simply Baroque Concerto is rendered quite sublime with Renate Sakins' delicate interpretation and ornamentation. Ms. Sakins is a member of the Renaissance City Winds, principal oboist with the Westmoreland Symphony and 2nd oboist with the Akron Symphony.
The orchestra's last concert of the season also includes Russian composer Alexander Borodin's "Overture To Prince Igor" and theEnglish composer Ralph Vaughan Williams' timeless "Symphony No. 5".
