PG hires Mary Ann Brown to lead post-gazette.com

PITTSBURGH, December 20, 2006 – The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette has named Mary Ann Brown General Manager of post-gazette.com. Brown starts in her new role on January 2, 2007.

Mary Ann Brown comes to the Post-Gazette most recently from Howard Hanna, but she is well known in the Pittsburgh market from her time as Vice President, Advertising with Kaufmann's department store.

In her role with post-gazette.com, Brown will serve as an advocate for the online business and coordinate all facets of the web site to increase reach and profit. "Mary Ann is a strong leader with a reputation for getting things done. We look forward to her stewardship of several projects that will significantly enhance our online services for readers and advertisers in the coming year," said Diana Block, Vice President and General Manager of the Post-Gazette.

Brown is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and works with the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera as a judge for the Gene Kelly Awards and serves on the board of the Lupus Center for Excellence Foundation.
