Internships

The Post-Gazette offers paid and unpaid internship opportunities for eligible college students to work alongside talented journalists and gain experience in a professional news environment

Selected interns will be placed in one of several departments in our newsroom: Local News, Business, Features, Sports, Digital, Photo, Art (Design), Copy Desk, Editorial and Investigations. While most of the intern experience will mimic that of the Post-Gazette's staff, interns also will participate in workshops and other activities that will give them the necessary tools to succeed as journalists.

Unpaid interns must receive academic credit or financial assistance from their schools. Internships run from May through August for no fewer than 10 and no more than 13 weeks.

Eligibility: Must be a student in good standing at a college or university. Must have previous journalism experience (previous internship experience is preferred). A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.

Instructions to apply: Fill out an application form and send along with a cover letter, resume and 3-5 clips/work samples to Linda Parker. Please send each document with applicant's name in the file (example: Parker_Linda_resume.doc).

Deadline: Dec. 16
